Design an extensive short game practice facility for the Golf Teams of the University of Arizona. Large chipping green with multiple bunkers and elevations on and around the facility. Design a large putting green, design wedge targets.

As a part of the University of Arizona golf program’s move to Tucson Country Club, MGGD was commissioned to design and develop a new short game practice area that would challenge the nationally ranked golf program. The new short game area allows for the athletes to practice any shot imaginable, from short pitch and runs to fairway bunker work. The chipping green is over 9,000 SF with numerous elevation changes and slopes. Two bunkers allow for practicing shallow bunker scenarios or even shots up to 4’ + below the hole location. In addition, we developed a substantial putting green for the teams and a large practice tee and wedge targets all tied into Trackman technology.
